Terms of service

These terms cover your use of Parking Koi at https://www.parkingkoi.com, operated by Parking Koi INC Ltd of Arma Majeda Malik Tower, Holding No# 215, Bir Uttam Rafiqul Islam Ave, Dhaka 1212. They are written plainly on purpose. Where a rule is enforced by the software, this document describes what the software actually does.

What Parking Koi is

Parking Koi introduces people who need parking to people who have a place to park. We are not the owner of the bay, we do not operate it, and we do not take custody of your vehicle. The agreement to park is between you and the person whose space it is.

That distinction matters when something goes wrong. We can hold money, refund it, and decide a complaint between two people, and we do. We cannot be responsible for damage to a vehicle, for theft from it, or for anything that happens in a space we neither own nor supervise.

Your account

One account per person. You need a working mobile number, confirmed by a code we send to it, before you can book a space, list one, or move money in either direction.

You are responsible for what happens through your account. If you think somebody else has access to it, change your password and tell us at once. Anything that moves money asks for a second code sent to your confirmed number, which is why keeping that number current matters.

We can suspend an account. The reason is recorded, and it is not done casually: fraud, an unpaid balance owed to a host, or repeated behaviour that makes the marketplace unusable for other people.

Credit, and what it is not

Money you add to your wallet becomes parking credit. It buys parking and nothing else. It cannot be withdrawn to a card or a bank account, and it cannot be transferred to another person. You can add between 10 taka and 25,000 taka in one payment.

Money you earn by hosting is separate and can be withdrawn. Your wallet shows the two figures apart because they behave differently, and the difference is not cosmetic.

We do not pay interest on a wallet balance and a balance is not a deposit. If you close your account with credit remaining, contact us and we will deal with it case by case.

Prices and our fee

A host sets what they want to earn. We add 20 per cent on top, and that is our fee. The price you see as a guest is the price you pay; the amount the host earns is the amount they set. Neither of you is shown the other's figure, which is deliberate.

For monthly arrangements the rate is agreed case by case rather than calculated, because a monthly price depends on the place. You are told the price before you commit and nothing is charged before you accept it.

Bookings, cancellations and overstaying

Cancelling more than one hour before it starts is free, and the whole amount returns to your wallet.

Cancelling later than that, or after it has started, costs you the hours you have actually used plus a fee of one hour of parking. Whatever is left of the booking comes back as credit. The charge never exceeds what you paid, so a late cancellation of a short booking simply refunds nothing rather than owing anything.

Part hours are rounded with a grace of 15 minutes, so arriving and leaving within that is not counted as an hour used.

The same grace of 15 minutes applies at the end of a booking. Past that, the host can charge for the extra time at the same hourly rate. An unpaid overstay charge blocks new bookings until it is settled, because the next person needs that space.

The exact figures are on the refunds page and are the same figures the software applies.

If something goes wrong with a stay

You have 30 minutes from the end of a booking to report a problem with it. During that window the money is still held by us and has not reached the host, which is what makes a report worth making rather than a complaint after the fact.

We look at what both sides say and decide. The decision can be a full refund, a partial one, or none, and a partial one is common because a space that was not as described was often still used. Whatever we decide, both sides are told.

If you are a host

Money from a stay is held for one hour after it ends before it reaches your wallet. That hold is what lets a guest report a problem against money that has not moved yet, and it is why we can settle a complaint without asking you to pay anything back.

You can withdraw earnings once they exceed 300 taka. Payouts are reviewed by a person and sent by bank transfer, bKash or Nagad, and adding a destination or requesting a payout asks for a code on your mobile.

Your listing must be a real place you have the right to let, described accurately, and available when you say it is. A listing that is not is removed.

Monthly parking

A monthly arrangement is billed in advance from your wallet automatically. Keep enough credit in it: a payment that cannot be taken puts the arrangement at risk.

Ending one takes one month of notice. Months paid beyond the notice period are refunded to your wallet; the notice period itself is not.

Things we ask you not to do

Do not book a space you do not intend to use, list a place that is not yours, use somebody else's payment details, or try to arrange payment outside the platform after meeting through it. The last one seems harmless and is the one that leaves both people with no protection at all.

Changes, and the law that applies

We can change these terms. Where a change affects money already in a wallet or a booking already made, it will not apply to it retrospectively. The date at the top of this page changes when the rules behind it do.

These terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh, and the courts of Dhaka have jurisdiction.
